The Spyker F1 Team is a Formula One Team that competed in the 2007 Formula One World Championship. It has its origin from the team Jordan that participated in racing during 1991 to 2005. During this period, the Jordan team won four races. Midland, a multi-national company bought it in 2006 and changed its name to MF1 racing. Towards the end of the year, it was taken over by Spyker. As per the rules of FIA, a racing team cannot change its name during a season but can add its sponsor’s name to the front. Thus Midland F1 became Spyker MF1 Team. There was also a change in the racing livery to orange and silver scheme.

The Spyker F1 team retained Midland drivers Christijan Albers and Tiago Monterio for the rest of the 2006 season. The Spyker MF1 Team had its debut race in China. Spyker F1 Team signed Albers to drive in the 2007 season also. Colin Kolles, team boss of Midland was also retained by Spyker F1 Team as team principal till 2007. Mike Gascoyne was the chief Technology Officer of the Spyker F1 Team from the 2006 season. Michiel Mol, a member of the Spyker board, became the new Director of Spyker F1 Team. The Spyker F1 Team switched from Toyota units to customer Ferrari engines in 2007. It registered itself under the Dutch motor racing authority and during 2007 used the Dutch flag to reflect its new ownership. But the Spyker F1 Team remained based in UK all through out its course.

For the 2007 season, Spyker signed Adrian Sutil as the second driver and four others as test and reserve drivers. In March 2007, Spyker F1 Team became Etihad Aldar Spyker F1 Team as a result of a sponsor deal with the companies. During the 2007 European Grand Prix, Albers was replaced by Winkelhock but the race drive went to Sakon Yamamoto. The team scored its first championship point at the 2007 Japanese Grand Prix when driver Sutil who finished 9th on the track was promoted to 8th place. Spyker F1 Team was sold at the end of the 2007 season and became Force India Formula One.
